STEP 1

Shape the Nails

File the free edge to your desired shape and length before preparing the nail surface. Use controlled strokes and smooth any rough or uneven edges.

Choose the nail shape before applying gel so you need less filing after the manicure is finished.

STEP 2

Push Back & Clean the Cuticle Area

Gently push back the cuticle to expose the nail plate. Carefully remove non-living cuticle tissue attached to the nail plate, especially around the cuticle line and sidewalls.

Work gently around the cuticle line—the goal is to clean the nail plate, not scrape or damage it.

STEP 3

Gently Buff the Nail Surface

Lightly buff the entire nail plate to remove the natural shine. Use gentle, even pressure and make sure you reach the areas near the cuticle and sidewalls.

Check the nail from different angles to spot any shiny areas you may have missed.

STEP 4

Remove All Dust & Residue

Thoroughly remove filing and buffing dust from the nail plate, cuticle area, and sidewalls. Make sure no visible particles or residue remain.

Pay extra attention around the cuticle and sidewalls, where fine dust can easily collect.

Remove all dust from the nail surface and surrounding areas.

STEP 5

Clean & Dehydrate the Nail

Clean the nail plate with a lint-free wipe and nail cleanser or alcohol, then apply nail dehydrator if your nail system calls for one. Allow the nail to dry completely before applying the next product.

Once the nail is clean and dehydrated, avoid touching the nail plate with your fingers.
